Night Run

Developed during an 'Escalator' event at Wysing Arts, Cambridgeshire in 2011, Night Run is just that- a run taken at night with the path ahead illuminated only with a strong spotlight attached to the artist's chest. This is a first impromptu test piece, where the artist undertook the run on the bridle path that surrounds Cambourne, a new town  where the artist was staying, a few miles away from Wysing Arts.

Having discovered the path in daylight, the artist challenged herself to follow it at night alone, in an attempt to find her way back into the town. A 40 minute strange mix of apprehension, almost fear, blindness, nervous excitement, and exhilaration followed. In all, a thrilling experience.
