Chasing Blue

Chasing Blue

Chasing Blue is a run of approximately 10km undertaken by the artist around the blue perimeter fence that marked the initial boundary of the main site for the London 2012 Olympic Games. This run took place near the start of building works in 2008 when the site was delineated by a distinctive blue painted boundary fence. An updated version of this work is currently in development.

This is one of a number of works in which the artist uses mobile camera technologies to record long distance runs in the outside environment from her eye-view and experience of the event. Intended to be shown as a two-screen projected video installation in real time, this single split-screen version has been speeded up to 5 minutes, adding a sense of urgency to the situation.
